AirPods prices in the UK: what each model costs now

Apple sells three kinds of AirPods: the AirPods 5, announced on 09/09/2026 and in two versions, the AirPods Pro 3 and the over-ear AirPods Max 2, announced on 16/03/2026. The shops still sell the AirPods 4 that the AirPods 5 replaced. Below is what each cost on 09/10/2026 at Apple and at the shops we compare, new and refurbished, then whether prices have fallen and which pair to buy.

How much do AirPods cost in the UK?

On its UK store on 09/10/2026, Apple sold the AirPods 5 at £119 (£139 with the Wireless Charging Case), the AirPods Pro 3 at £219 and the AirPods Max 2 at £499. The cheapest new pair at the shops we compare that day was the AirPods 4 at £99, at Argos, Currys and John Lewis, a model Apple no longer sells.

Read on apple.com/uk and on each shop's own pages on 09/10/2026. Amazon was the seller of its AirPods Pro 3; its search showed no AirPods 5 or AirPods Max 2, and its AirPods 4 with noise cancellation was sold used only. Currys showed the AirPods 4 as "Save £20" and the noise-cancelling AirPods 4 as "Save £40". The eBay AirPods Max 2 is a new pair from a UK business seller with 30 days' returns (you pay the return postage). Read at source on 09/10/2026. The Amazon Renewed pairs came from marketplace sellers with 30 days' returns. The eBay AirPods Pro 3 is from a business seller with 30 days' returns, the AirPods Max 2 from Argos's eBay shop with 60 days'. Currys's refurbished pairs come with its 12-month guarantee.

Are AirPods cheaper anywhere than at Apple?

Only the AirPods Pro 3, and only a little. On 09/10/2026 Amazon sold them at £200, £19 under Apple, while Argos, Currys and John Lewis charged Apple's £219. On the AirPods 5 and the AirPods Max 2, every shop we compare charged Apple's price that day.

The bigger savings were on eBay. A sealed pair of AirPods Pro 3 was £150 plus £3.92 delivery from a private seller taking no returns, and a new AirPods Max 2 was £394.95 from a UK business seller, £104.05 under Apple. Read the listing and the seller's returns before you buy: neither comes with a shop's returns policy.

This page has no Argos, Currys or John Lewis row yet; all three charged £219 for the AirPods Pro 3 on 09/10/2026.

Have AirPods prices dropped?

Not at Apple, and not by much at the shops. What we can show:

• Apple's prices have held. It announced the AirPods Max 2 at £499 on 16/03/2026 and the AirPods 5 at £119 and £139 on 09/09/2026, and charged the same on 09/10/2026.
• The AirPods 4 are cheaper. Apple no longer sold them on 09/10/2026, and Currys had the AirPods 4 at £99 ("Save £20") and the noise-cancelling AirPods 4 at £129 ("Save £40"). Argos and John Lewis charged the same.
• Amazon's AirPods Pro 3 price moves. On our page it read £179 on 09/09/2026, £200 and £219 on 21/09/2026 and 22/09/2026, £183.32 on 06/10/2026, £189 on 08/10/2026 and £200 on 09/10/2026.

Here is the cheapest price we have seen each day for the AirPods Pro 3, new and refurbished together:

Since we started tracking on 09/09/2026, the low point on this chart has been an eBay listing every day but the first, between £119.90 (14/09/2026) and £149.90; on 09/09/2026 it was Amazon's £179. We have no figures that say where the price goes next.

Are refurbished AirPods worth it?

For the AirPods Pro 3 and the plain AirPods 4, yes, with care; for the noise-cancelling AirPods 4, no. With the prices of 09/10/2026:

• AirPods Pro 3. £126.99 on eBay, graded Very Good, from a business seller with 30 days' returns, £73.01 under Amazon's new price.
• AirPods 4. £79.99 from Amazon Renewed, graded Excellent, £19.01 under the £99 new price.
• AirPods Max 2. £424.15 on eBay, graded Excellent, from Argos's eBay shop with 60 days' returns, £74.85 under Apple. A new pair on eBay was £394.95, less than that.
• AirPods 4 with noise cancellation. Currys's refurbished pair at £139 cost £10 more than its new one at £129, so buy new.

Neither Currys nor Amazon Renewed gives a minimum battery health for refurbished AirPods on its pages (read 09/10/2026), so ask the seller about the battery and use the returns window to check how long a charge lasts. Currys says its pairs are checked, tested and re-boxed, with a 12-month guarantee, and may have non-original parts; Amazon Renewed says its products are inspected, tested and cleaned to its requirements and that accessories may not be original. Clean the ear tips when they arrive, or replace them: Apple sold five pairs of AirPods Pro 3 ear tips at £15 that day. Here is what refurbished grades mean, and what changes when you buy second hand.

Which AirPods should you buy?

• AirPods 5, £119. Apple's cheapest pair, with noise cancellation. Apple says they cancel more noise than the noise-cancelling AirPods 4 and play an hour longer on a charge (up to five hours with noise cancellation). The £139 version adds a wireless charging case, longer battery life and volume control on the stem.
• AirPods 4, £99. The cheapest new pair, without noise cancellation. The noise-cancelling AirPods 4 at £129 cost £10 more than the newer AirPods 5 on 09/10/2026, so skip them.
• AirPods Pro 3, £200 at Amazon on 09/10/2026. The in-ear pair with the most noise cancellation, heart rate sensing during workouts and Apple's hearing health features, by Apple's comparison page.
• AirPods Max 2, £499. The over-ear pair. Apple's release of 16/03/2026 says the Max 2 bring Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness and Live Translation to AirPods Max for the first time, so a refurbished first-generation Max at £327 does without them.

One row in this box needs a word: its Amazon refurbished price (£327 on Amazon's page on 09/10/2026) is the first-generation AirPods Max, not the Max 2. Its other rows are the Max 2.

What to do

1. For the AirPods Pro 3, check Amazon first: £200, sold by Amazon, on 09/10/2026, against £219 everywhere else.
2. Skip the noise-cancelling AirPods 4 at £129: the AirPods 5 cost £10 less and replace them.
3. For the AirPods Max, check which one you are buying: the Max 2 went on sale in March 2026, and older first-generation pairs are still sold refurbished.
4. Buy refurbished AirPods only with at least 30 days' returns, and check the battery within that time.
5. If the price is not right yet, set a price alert on the product page and we will email you when it drops.
