Black Friday is Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday is 30 November. UK shops start their Black Friday prices days or weeks before that, and the iPhone is one of the products they lead with. A "Black Friday price" is only a deal if it is lower than what the iPhone cost before the sales began, and the "was" price printed next to it rarely tells you that.

So here is what six iPhones cost before the sales, read on each shop's page, each eBay listing and Apple's UK store on 5 November 2026 between 21:28 and 21:43, beside the lowest prices we have recorded since September. Use it as the yardstick. From 20 November we re-read the table every day until Cyber Monday, and the live prices further down update on their own.

Is the iPhone 17 cheaper this Black Friday?

Not yet, on 5 November 2026. The cheapest new iPhone 17 256GB at a shop was £771.49 at A1 Tech Deals, £127.51 under Apple's £899, but A1 charged the same £771.49 when we read it on 3 November, and Amazon had already sold it at £770.29 on 12 September. Amazon itself was at £799, £28.71 above that low; Apple, Argos, Currys and John Lewis charged £899.

So a Black Friday iPhone 17 deal from a shop needs to beat about £770 to be a price you could not have had in September. Anything at £899 is Apple's own price, whatever the banner says. On eBay a business seller taking returns had a sealed one at £749.90, and Argos's own eBay outlet had a refurbished one in Excellent at £645.19 with 60 days' returns.

Unlocked phones in stock, read on Apple's UK store, each shop's page and each eBay listing on 5 November 2026 between 21:28 and 21:43; Argos on its search and product pages. eBay prices are from business sellers taking returns, with the postage they charged. Amazon's new prices are Amazon itself as the seller; Amazon Renewed is a third-party refurbisher. Refurbished grades are each seller's own names. "Our record" is from our price history: the lowest new price we recorded since September at the shop named, which was the cheapest shop on our page when we read it, and the middle value of our page's cheapest new price on each day of October, eBay listings included. Back Market's and musicMagpie's pages show a security check in our browser, so they are left out; eBay's refurbished search for the iPhone 16 and 16e did not load, so the eBay prices there are the listings on our pages.

How do you tell a real Black Friday iPhone deal from a "was" price?

Compare the Black Friday price with the lowest price the phone has sold at since September, not with the price the shop crosses out. On 5 November 2026 A1 Tech Deals showed its iPhone 17 at £771.49 beside £899 and "Save 14%"; the £899 is Apple's price, and A1 had charged £771.49 two days earlier too. A crossed-out price tells you what the shop compares itself with, not whether the price has fallen. Four checks:

  1. Know Apple's price. On 5 November 2026 Apple's UK store sold the iPhone 17 from £899, the iPhone 17e from £699 and the iPhone 16 from £799. Its store no longer lists the iPhone 17 Pro, the 16e or the 15, so for those there is no Apple price to compare with, only the shops'. A shop at Apple's price is selling at full price.
  2. Check our record. The last column above is the lowest new price we have recorded at that shop since September, with its date. A Black Friday price above it is a price you could have had in the autumn. The October figure is the cheapest new price on our page on a typical October day, eBay included, so a price under it is genuinely low.
  3. Match the storage. The iPhone 17e at £699 is 256GB and the iPhone 16 at £799 is 128GB, while Amazon's iPhone 17 at £949 on 5 November 2026 was the 512GB. A headline price can be for another size than the one you want.
  4. On eBay, read the seller. We quote business sellers taking returns, and add their postage. A private seller taking no returns will not take back a phone you simply do not want; eBay's Money Back Guarantee covers a phone that does not arrive or does not match the listing, which is not the same as a warranty. How to read an eBay seller goes further.

Network deals, where the phone comes with a monthly plan, are out of scope here: their price depends on the plan, so compare the total cost over the contract with an unlocked phone and a SIM-only plan.
