iPhone prices in the UK: what each model costs now

How much an iPhone costs in the UK: Apple's price for every model it sells today, what Amazon, Argos and Currys charge, and the one iPhone the shops sell for £300 less.

Apple sells seven iPhones in the UK today, from £699 for the iPhone 17e to £1,999 for the folding iPhone Duo. Below is what each one cost on 04/10/2026 at Apple and at the shops we compare, then Apple's price for every storage size, and where the shops are cheaper. The short version: on a current iPhone the big shops charge Apple's price, with one large exception, and the real discounts sit on models Apple has stopped selling.

How much does an iPhone cost in the UK?

The cheapest iPhone Apple sells is the iPhone 17e, £699 for 256GB, and Amazon, Argos and Currys charged the same on 04/10/2026. The cheapest new iPhone on our pages that day was the iPhone 16e with 128GB at £599 at Currys and Argos, a model Apple no longer sells.

New, smallest storage. "Shops" means Amazon, Argos and Currys, which charged the same for each model. Read on Apple's UK store and on each shop's own pages on 04/10/2026. John Lewis's prices on our pages that day were the same wherever it had stock. Stock varied by colour: Amazon had the 18 Pro 256GB in Burgundy out of stock, and Currys had no 18 Pro Max 256GB in stock.

So for every iPhone the shops sell but one, choose the shop on delivery, collection and returns, not on price. The exception is the iPhone Air, which Amazon, Argos and Currys sell for £300 under Apple's own price.

Two things stand out. The iPhone 16, now two years old, costs £100 more at Apple than the newer iPhone 17e, though the 16 has a second, ultra wide camera and the Dynamic Island. And the 128GB iPhone 16 is the only iPhone Apple still sells with less than 256GB.

Is the iPhone 17 cheaper anywhere than at Apple?

Not at the big shops. The 256GB iPhone 17 was £899 at Apple, Amazon, Argos and Currys on 04/10/2026, and the 512GB £1,099 at all four. The lower prices are on eBay, and they move fast: a sealed 256GB from a business seller was listed at £699 on our page that morning and had sold by 11:04.

A marketplace price that low is one listing, not a shop's price, so read who is selling and what the returns are before you count on it. Our guide to buying on eBay explains what to check, and the price promises at Currys and John Lewis do not cover marketplace listings.

Is the iPhone 16e the cheapest iPhone?

In the shops, yes, but not at Apple. Apple's UK store no longer lists the iPhone 16e; its cheapest iPhone is now the 17e at £699. Currys and Argos still had the 128GB iPhone 16e at £599 on 04/10/2026, and Amazon listed it at £599 too, though dispatched "within 1 to 3 months". The cheapest sealed 16e on our page that day was £440.20 plus £7.95 postage on eBay, from a private seller taking no returns.

The two are closer than the names suggest: both have a 6.1-inch screen and one 48MP camera on the back. The 17e has the newer A19 chip, twice the storage at 256GB, and MagSafe, which the 16e lacks, so MagSafe wallets, mounts and chargers do not snap onto a 16e. For £100 more you get double the storage and a chip a year newer. If 128GB is enough for you and you have no MagSafe accessories, the 16e at £599 is the cheapest new iPhone you can buy from a big shop, for as long as the shops have stock. Our iPhone 16 vs 16e comparison covers what the 16e leaves out.

What do the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone Duo cost?

The iPhone 18 Pro starts at £1,199 for 256GB and the 18 Pro Max at £1,299, and on 04/10/2026 Argos and Currys charged Apple's price for every storage size of both. Nobody discounts them yet: the cheapest new 18 Pro Max on our page that day was £1,299, Apple's own price.

The iPhone Duo is Apple's first folding iPhone, with a 7.6-inch inner screen and a 5.4-inch outer one. It costs £1,999 for 256GB, rising to £3,199 for 2TB. Apple's store says pre-orders open at 1pm on 16/10/2026 and the phone arrives on 23/10/2026, so no shop sells it yet.

What about last year's iPhones?

Apple has stopped selling the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, but the shops still have them. On 04/10/2026 the 256GB 17 Pro was £999 at Argos and Currys, and the 17 Pro Max £1,099, each £200 under the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max that replaced them. On eBay a sealed 256GB 17 Pro in Cosmic Orange was £854.99 with free delivery, from a business seller giving 30 days' returns: £144.01 under the shops.

The iPhone 15 at £699 for 128GB (Argos and Currys, the same day) now costs as much as the iPhone 17e, which has the newer chip and twice the storage. An older iPhone is worth buying new only when it is clearly cheaper than the current one at the same price. If you are happy with a phone that has been used, a refurbished iPhone from a seller with a year's warranty usually saves more.

What does the iPhone Air cost now?

£1,099 at Apple for 256GB, and £799 at Amazon, Argos and Currys on 04/10/2026, with Amazon the seller. That £300 gap is the largest on any current iPhone, and the shops have held £799 since September: our iPhone Air vs iPhone 17 comparison found it at Currys, Amazon and Argos on 19/09/2026. At £799 the Air costs £100 less than the iPhone 17, though it has one rear camera and takes eSIMs only.

Currys also listed the 512GB Air at £999 and the 1TB at £1,199, £300 and £500 under Apple, but had neither in stock that day. On eBay, a new 256GB Air was £639.10 plus £11.95 postage, from a private seller taking no returns.

If new is not essential, a refurbished Air costs less again: our refurbished iPhone Air guide has who sells one and at what grade.

Which iPhone should you buy?

  • iPhone 17e, £699. The cheapest iPhone Apple sells, with 256GB and the A19 chip. Right for most people who want a new iPhone and do not need a second camera.
  • iPhone 16e, £599 in the shops. The cheapest new iPhone you can still buy, if 128GB is enough and you use no MagSafe accessories.
  • iPhone Air, £799 in the shops. The best value of this year's phones while the shops hold £799: a 6.5-inch ProMotion screen for £100 less than the iPhone 17.
  • iPhone 17, £899. The one to buy if you use the 0.5x ultra wide camera or want a nano-SIM slot alongside eSIM.
  • iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max, from £1,199. For the telephoto camera and the newest chip. Last year's 17 Pro at £999 in the shops is the cheaper way to a Pro.
  • iPhone 16 at Apple, £799. Hard to recommend at that price when the 17e costs £100 less with twice the storage, unless you want the ultra wide camera for less than an iPhone 17.

What to do

  1. Check Apple's price for the model and storage you want: it is the number every shop is judged against.
  2. Check the iPhone Air in the shops before you buy anything else this year: £799 against Apple's £1,099 changes which phone is the bargain.
  3. Match the storage on the listing, not just the name. An iPhone 16 at £799 is 128GB; an iPhone 17e at £699 is 256GB.
  4. Treat an eBay price well under the shops as one seller's offer. Read whether it is a business or a private seller, and what the returns are.
  5. If nothing is cheap enough today, set a price alert on the product page and we will email you when it drops.
