The Switch 2: what each shop charged
The new Switch 2 cost the same £419 to £419.99 at most shops: £419 at Currys, £419.99 at Argos and John Lewis. Amazon sold it itself at £417.18 and Gadcet at £409, in stock and ready to dispatch. A1 Tech Deals had it at £458.99.
On eBay the cheapest new Switch 2 from a business seller was £370 plus £5.80 postage, listed as "Brand New & Sealed" by a shop with 511 ratings, all positive, and 14 days' returns at your cost. Cheaper "Brand new" listings started at £333.10 plus postage, but the cheapest of them came from private accounts with no ratings at all, and the next few from accounts with 2 to 15. Read the seller before you buy one of those; how to read an eBay seller shows what to look for.
Used, the cheapest complete Switch 2 from a business seller was £329.99 plus £6 next-day delivery, with the box, dock and HDMI cable, scratches on the screen and 30 days' returns paid by the seller. Its listing says the plug in the box is the original Switch's, not the Switch 2's. Two cheaper used ones at £299.99 came without the charger. Refurbished cost more than new at a shop: £403 at Back Market in Good, and £399.99 at Amazon for a "Used, Like New" console from a marketplace seller.

The Switch OLED: cheapest new and used
New, the OLED cost £299.99 at Argos and £279.99 on eBay from a business seller with 3,253 ratings, free next-day delivery and 30 days' returns paid by the seller. Amazon's OLED was £359.98 from a marketplace seller, not Amazon itself. John Lewis and Currys did not list it.
Used, a complete OLED with its dock, Joy-Con and power cable cost £140 on eBay from a shop with 43,495 ratings, with free delivery and 30 days' returns at your cost. The cheapest refurbished one on eBay was £189.95, graded Good, though its title says console and Joy-Con only, so check what comes in the box. Back Market had it at £195 in Fair, £215 in Good and £266 in Excellent, and Gadcet's used OLED was £219 in Very Good. Our OLED page follows it.
The Switch Lite: the cheapest Switch of all
New, the Lite cost £199.99 at Argos in Turquoise and Coral, £196 at Amazon from a marketplace seller that quoted delivery for 25 to 27 November, and £180 plus £11.25 postage on eBay from a business seller. Gadcet and A1 Tech Deals had no new Lite in stock.
Used and refurbished, it is the cheapest way into Switch games:
- £69.99 on eBay, used, unboxed and described as good condition, free delivery, 30 days' returns at your cost.
- £109 at Amazon, refurbished in Acceptable, or £129 in Good, from a refurbisher selling under the Amazon Renewed Guarantee.
- £117 at Back Market in Fair, £130 in Good and £193 in Excellent.
- £129 at Gadcet, used in Good.
- £168.49 at A1 Tech Deals, refurbished in Good.
Cheaper used Lites were listed, but read the description: a £50 one had cloudy spots on the screen, and several came with a cracked case or no charger.
What the OLED and the Lite give up against the Switch 2
The OLED has a 7-inch OLED screen at 1280x720 and 64 GB of storage, and its dock has a wired LAN port, all from Nintendo's own pages read on 04/11/2026. It plays Nintendo Switch games only, so no Switch 2 game runs on it. The Switch 2 has a 7.9-inch 1920x1080 screen with HDR10 and up to 120 Hz, 256 GB of storage, up to 4K output to a TV, and it plays both Switch 2 and Switch game cards.
The Lite is a handheld only. Nintendo says it does not output to a TV and does not fit the Switch dock. Its 5.5-inch screen is 1280x720, it has 32 GB of storage, and its controls are built in, so games that use HD rumble or the IR Motion Camera need Joy-Con bought separately. Nintendo quotes 3 to 7 hours of battery, against 4.5 to 9 hours for the OLED. It plays Switch games that support handheld mode, and no Switch 2 games.
If you want the original Switch, it cost £248 at John Lewis, £259 at Currys and £259.99 at Argos on 04/11/2026, with a 6.2-inch screen and 32 GB, more than a new OLED on eBay that evening.
Is a bundle cheaper?
No. A console with a game costs more than the console alone, so compare the bundle with the console price plus the game. On 04/11/2026 Argos sold the Switch 2 with Mario Kart World at £449.99, with Switch Sports Resort at £439.99 and with Pokémon Pokopia at £429.99. Currys had the Mario Kart World bundle at £459 and the Sports Resort one at £449, and John Lewis the Mario Kart World bundle at £459.99.
What to do
- For the lowest price, buy a Switch Lite, used or refurbished, from a seller that takes returns. Check the screen photos and whether a charger comes with it.
- For a TV and a bigger screen, the OLED new on eBay at £279.99 cost £20 less than Argos on 04/11/2026.
- For Switch 2 games, the Switch 2 is the only console that runs them: £375.80 new on eBay from a business seller, or £409 at Gadcet from a shop.
- Add eBay's postage to every price, and check this week's price drops before you buy.
