iPad prices in the UK: what each model costs now
How much an iPad costs in the UK: Apple's price for every model it sells today, what the shops charge, and whether the iPad you want is still on sale.

On this page
Apple sells four iPads today, and the cheapest is £429. First, what each one cost on 02/10/2026 at Apple and at the shops we compare; then Apple's full price list, and what the shops were charging when we first wrote this on 20/09/2026. The short version: on a new iPad the shops rarely beat Apple by much, and the discounts that look big usually belong to a model Apple has stopped selling.
How much does an iPad cost in the UK?
The cheapest new iPad is the iPad (A16) at £429 for the 128 GB Wi-Fi model, and on 02/10/2026 Apple, Currys, John Lewis and Argos all charged exactly that. On eBay, sealed new ones started at £353.50 plus £5.80 postage the same day, about £70 less, but from a private seller taking no returns.
| iPad | Apple | Cheapest shop |
|---|---|---|
| iPad (A16), 128 GB | £429 | £429 at Currys, John Lewis and Argos |
| iPad mini (A17 Pro), 128 GB | £599 | £599 at Currys, John Lewis and Argos |
| iPad Air 11-inch (M4), 128 GB | £749 | £749 at Currys, John Lewis and Argos |
| iPad Pro 11-inch (M5), 256 GB | £1,199 | £1,199 at Currys, John Lewis and Argos |
On the current iPads the shops charge Apple's price, so choose on delivery, collection and returns. The biggest gap we found was more storage on the iPad mini: Currys had the 512 GB Wi-Fi in purple at £749 on 02/10/2026, £150 under Apple's £899.

Is the iPad (A16) cheaper anywhere else?
A little. On 20/09/2026 Amazon had the 128 GB in blue at £425.88, which is £3.12 under Apple, and John Lewis matched Apple's £429 while including a two-year guarantee. The lowest price of the day came from an eBay seller with one brand new, sealed in its box: £375 at our last check, and £379.50 when we opened the listing to confirm it. That is about £50 under Apple, from one seller's returns policy rather than a shop's, and it shows how fast a marketplace price moves.

That pattern holds across new Apple kit: the shops sit within a few pounds of Apple, and the outliers are marketplace sellers. It is worth knowing which is which before you decide, because the price promises at Currys and John Lewis do not cover marketplace listings.
How much is the iPad mini (A17 Pro)?
£599 at Apple for the 128 GB, the model many people search for as the "iPad mini 7". Amazon was a whisker under at £594.66 for the same 128 GB on 20/09/2026.

Since 28/09/2026 our iPad mini page is the 128 GB Wi-Fi model alone, so every row in that box prices the same iPad. The 256 GB, the 512 GB and the 5G model cost more, so check the capacity on the listing before you compare a price from elsewhere.
Can you still buy the iPad (10th generation)?
Not from Apple. It has left the line-up and the iPad (A16) sits at the bottom in its place, which is why searches for its price now turn up refurbished and second-hand listings. An older iPad is worth buying when it is clearly cheaper than the £429 Apple charges for the current one, and the usual refurbished rules apply: our guides to grades and who to buy refurbished from work the same way for iPads as for phones.
Last year's iPad Pro (M4) and iPad Air (M3) are in the same position. Shops still hold stock, prices vary from shop to shop because Apple has moved on, and the listing, not the headline, tells you which model and which screen size you are buying.
Which iPad should you buy?
- iPad (A16), from £429. The right one for most people: browsing, video, school work and notes.
- iPad mini (A17 Pro), from £599. The one to carry: reading, travel and one-handed use, for £170 more than the iPad.
- iPad Air 11-inch (M4), from £749. A faster chip and more storage to grow into, with Touch ID and a Liquid Retina screen.
- iPad Pro 11-inch (M5), from £1,199. The Ultra Retina XDR screen with ProMotion, Face ID, four speakers and Thunderbolt. Worth it for work that fills the screen all day, not for video and email.
What to do
- Check Apple's price for the exact model and storage first: it is the number every shop is judged against.
- Then check the shops. A few pounds under Apple is normal; £50 under usually means a marketplace seller, so read who is selling and what the returns are.
- Match the capacity, the screen size and the chip on the listing, not just the family name. "iPad Pro 11-inch" covers several years of different iPads.
- If the model you want is last year's, compare it against this year's price before you buy: the saving has to be worth the older chip.
- If nothing is cheap enough today, set a price alert on the product page and we will email you when it drops.
