Do Currys price match Argos, Amazon or John Lewis?
Yes: Currys matches Argos, John Lewis and Amazon's own prices, before you buy or up to 7 days after (terms read 25/09/2026). Argos and Amazon match no one.

On this page
Currys runs the broadest price promise of the big UK tech retailers, and the short answer is yes: it will match Argos, Amazon and John Lewis, and any other UK retailer, online or in store. The longer answer is where the money is, because most refused claims fail on a rule the shopper did not know about. Here are the rules as Currys publishes them, which of its rivals match back, and the live prices that show what a claim can be worth.
Does Currys price match Argos?
Yes. Currys matches "any other UK retailer store or website price", and Argos is one of them. The product has to be identical (the same make, model number, size, colour and specification), and both Currys and Argos must have it in stock and ready for delivery.
It does not work the other way round. Argos does not price match other retailers, online or in store, which is why the Currys or Argos question usually ends at Currys: if Argos is cheaper, Currys can close the gap; if Currys is cheaper, Argos will not.
Does Currys price match Amazon?
Yes, when Amazon itself is selling the item. Currys excludes marketplace seller prices, and a large share of Amazon listings are marketplace sellers using Amazon's shop window. Before you claim, check the line under the price: "Dispatched from and sold by Amazon" counts, a named third-party seller does not.
Two other Amazon cases fail on the same terms. On Currys' wording, a price only Prime members can get is a paid membership price, so it does not count. And a price that has already gone, or an item Amazon shows as out of stock, cannot be checked, so it cannot be matched.
Amazon does not price match anyone in return. Its help pages say it compares its prices with other retailers to keep them low, and so does not offer price matching compensation.
Does Currys price match John Lewis?
Yes, and this is the one pairing that works in both directions. John Lewis brought back Never Knowingly Undersold and now matches the prices of 25 retailers, a list that includes Currys, Argos and AO, and Amazon for electricals such as TVs, computing, gaming and phones. If you find the same item cheaper at one of them within 7 days of placing your order, John Lewis refunds the difference. The big exception is Apple: John Lewis matches Apple products only against Apple's own price, so an iPhone, iPad or AirPods that is cheaper at Currys, Argos or Amazon is not a claim.
Its rules mirror Currys' in the places that matter: no marketplace or third-party sellers hosted by those retailers, no membership or loyalty prices, and no clearance lines. Three differences are worth knowing. John Lewis counts a mandatory delivery charge when it compares prices, while Currys matches the item price and not delivery charges. John Lewis does not match flash sales, which its terms say include lightning deals and any price with a countdown clock; Currys' terms do not list flash sales, though the price still has to be live when Currys checks it. And John Lewis excludes refurbished and reconditioned products, so its promise covers new stock only.
eBay is not on John Lewis's list, and at Currys an eBay listing is a marketplace seller price. So the cheapest number on eBay is rarely one either promise will match.
Does Argos price match?
No. Argos says on its help pages that it does not price match, online or in store, and that it reviews its own prices instead (checked 25/09/2026). That covers Amazon, Currys and everyone else: a lower price elsewhere is not something Argos will close.
It does work the other way round. Currys matches Argos like any other UK retailer, and Argos is one of John Lewis's 25, so when Argos has the lowest price, either of them can match it, with John Lewis's Apple exception. Is Currys or Argos cheaper? shows how often the two differ at all.
Does John Lewis price match Amazon?
Yes, for electricals that Amazon sells itself: tech, TV and audio, computing and gaming, home appliances, and mobile and smart tech. Three things stop a claim:
- A marketplace seller. The Amazon page has to say the item is sold by Amazon. Shipped by Amazon is fine; sold by a named third party is not.
- A flash sale. John Lewis's terms name limited-time deals, lightning deals and any price with a countdown clock, so an Amazon price wearing a "Limited time deal" badge is out.
- An Apple product. John Lewis matches Apple products only against Apple's own price.
The claim window is 7 days from placing your order, not from delivery, and you claim through John Lewis's online form with a screenshot of the lower price. To get the match before you pay, you need to be in a John Lewis shop with the live page; online, its terms ask you to buy first and claim afterwards.
What will Currys not match?
From Currys' own terms, checked 25/09/2026:
- Marketplace seller prices, on Amazon, eBay or anywhere else.
- Membership, subscription, loyalty and reward prices, and exclusive codes such as staff, student, NHS and blue light discounts. Public offer codes do count.
- Trade prices and obvious pricing errors.
- Delivery charges, installation charges, product protection plans, mobile airtime plans and other services, as well as ink products and Sky Glass.
- Anything not identical, or not in stock at both Currys and the competitor and ready for delivery.
If the cheaper price is in a competitor's shop rather than on its website, Currys asks for the competitor's contact details and a photo showing the model number, the stock, the date and time, and the price. It also reserves the right to refuse a match where it suspects fraud or unauthorised reselling.

How much can a price match be worth?
Here are two products where the UK retailers disagree, with the cheapest offer per condition on top and every live row beneath. When we checked on 14/09/2026, a 1 TB PlayStation 5 was £539 at Amazon and £569.99 at John Lewis, and an iPhone 15 with 128 GB was £599 at Amazon and £699 at John Lewis. In both cases the lowest new price was an eBay listing, which neither promise covers.

Read the rows from sellers the promises cover. If Amazon is selling the item itself, that is the price to show Currys before you buy. John Lewis would match it on the PlayStation within 7 days of your order, but not on the iPhone, because for Apple products it only matches Apple's own price. A £100 gap on a phone is worth a two-minute webchat, and a price far below every other seller is worth a second look before it is worth a claim.
How do you claim a price match at Currys?
- Before you buy online: start a Webchat and share the link to the cheaper price.
- Before you buy by phone: Currys' telesales team is on 020 7139 1386, Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, and 9am to 5:30pm at weekends.
- In store: show a colleague the cheaper price on your phone.
- After you have bought: within 7 days, contact Currys through Webchat, or go back to the store if you bought there, and it refunds the difference.
What to do
- Find the cheapest price from a retailer itself, not a marketplace seller, and check it is in stock and deliverable now.
- Compare like for like: model number, storage, colour, and whether a delivery charge applies.
- If Currys is dearer, ask before you buy; if the price drops elsewhere after you buy, claim within 7 days.
- If you bought at John Lewis, check its 25 retailers within 7 days of your order; for an Apple product, only Apple's own price counts.
- Do not expect Argos or Amazon to match anyone, and treat the cheapest eBay listing as a price no promise will close.
- Set a price drop alert on the product page, so you hear about a lower price inside your 7 days rather than after them.
