Is the PS5 Pro in stock in the UK, and what does it cost today?

On 01/10/2026 Currys and Argos had the PS5 Pro at Sony's £789.99 or 99p under, John Lewis had none online, and Amazon only marketplace sellers from £975.

Sony is selling the PS5 Pro by lottery in Japan, which raises the obvious question here: can you still buy one in the UK? We checked Sony's price and the big UK shops on 01/10/2026. The short answer is yes, at Currys and Argos, for Sony's £789.99 or 99p under. John Lewis had none online, Amazon had none of its own, and the lottery is for Japan only.

Is the PS5 Pro in stock in the UK today?

Yes, at two of the four big shops. On 01/10/2026 Currys had it at £789, ready for delivery or store collection and limited to one per customer because of high demand. Argos had it at £789.99, on sale for collection or delivery. John Lewis listed it at £789.99 but was out of stock online. Amazon sold none itself: every new PS5 Pro on its pages came from a marketplace seller, the cheapest at £975, which is £185.01 over Sony's price.

The box shows our latest check of each shop, so it can move on from the figures in this post. Two of its rows need a word. Amazon's refurbished price is a used console graded Like New from a marketplace seller: we list Like New as refurbished and leave the lower used grades out. And the cheapest new console on eBay on 01/10/2026, at £839.99, came from a private seller taking no returns, which gives you fewer rights than buying from a shop. Here is what changes when you buy second hand.

Why is the PS5 Pro hard to find?

Short supply meeting high demand, by the reports so far. Grand Theft Auto VI comes out on 19/11/2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to Rockstar's own site, and the news reports tie the rush for the Pro to it. On 16/09/2026 the German games site Playfront reported a memo in which Sony told distributors that supply would stay tight until early 2027 at the earliest, citing limited supply and high demand. That is a report of a private memo, not a public statement, so treat it as a guide rather than a forecast.

The lottery in the news is Japan's, and you cannot enter it from the UK. Sony's Japanese PlayStation site, read on 01/10/2026, says the Sony Store in Japan is taking applications until 23:59 Japan time on 07/10/2026, and only from people who live in Japan, with a Sony account registered there and at least 60 hours of PS5 or PS4 play between 27/09/2024 and 27/09/2026. It allows one console per account, holds a draw if applications outnumber the consoles, sends results from about 26/10/2026 and delivers inside Japan only. In the UK there is no draw: the Pro is sold first come, first served.

PS5 Pro price today at Currys, Argos, Amazon and John Lewis

Sony's recommended price for the PS5 Pro in the UK is £789.99. It launched at £699.99 on 07/11/2024, and the current price took effect on 02/04/2026, when Sony raised the price of every PS5 model, citing pressures in the global economy. So a shop asking £789.99 today is charging Sony's price, not marking it up.

WherePrice and stock
Sony's recommended price£789.99 since 02/04/2026 (£699.99 at launch)
Currys£789, in stock for delivery or store collection, one per customer
Argos£789.99, on sale for collection or delivery
John Lewis£789.99, out of stock online
AmazonNone sold by Amazon itself; marketplace sellers from £975
eBay£839.99 from a private seller, no returns
A new PS5 Pro (2 TB), checked on 01/10/2026 on Sony's UK site and each shop's own pages. Currys, Argos, John Lewis and Amazon read the same again on 02/10/2026. Stock and prices change, so the live box above may differ.

At the big shops the price is not the problem, stock is. Every new console sold on its own above Sony's price on 01/10/2026 came from a marketplace seller, and the cheapest of them cost £50.99 more than Currys. Second hand saved little: the used Like New console on Amazon was £769, £20 under Currys's new price, and the cheapest refurbished one on eBay was £799.99, more than new.

Is there a refurbished PS5 Pro?

Yes, on eBay, but on 02/10/2026 none was cheaper than a new one at its listed price. The box above held one refurbished row that day: a console graded Excellent at £859.99 from a business seller with 30 days' returns, £70.99 more than Currys charged for a new one, though the listing offered a coupon that took it to £784.99. Searching eBay ourselves the same day, the cheapest refurbished Pro without a coupon was £799.95, graded Very Good, from another business seller with free returns, still £10.95 over Currys. On Amazon, the cheapest used console graded Like New was £829, from a marketplace seller.

We list a console as refurbished when the seller grades it as refurbished, count Amazon's "Used: Like New" as refurbished and leave its lower used grades out, and give eBay consoles opened but never used a section of their own. What a grade promises, and what changes when you buy from a private seller, is in refurbished vs second hand.

A refurbished Pro is worth having only when it costs clearly less than Sony's £789.99, with a warranty or returns behind it. To hear when one does, set a price alert on our PS5 Pro page with only Refurbished ticked and a target under £789.

Should you wait or buy?

If you have decided on the Pro and want it this year, there is little to gain by waiting:

  • The price has gone up, not down. Sony's recommended price is £90 higher than at launch after the rise on 02/04/2026, and Currys and Argos sell at it or 99p under.
  • Stock is the pinch. Currys is limiting sales to one per customer, John Lewis has none online and Amazon none of its own, with Grand Theft Auto VI due on 19/11/2026.
  • Missing out costs more. If the shops sell out, the fallback is a marketplace seller: £185.01 over Sony's price for the cheapest new console on Amazon on 01/10/2026.

Black Friday falls on 27/11/2026, eight days after Grand Theft Auto VI. A discount then is possible, but not one to count on while a shop is rationing stock.

If you are still choosing between the Pro and a PS5 Slim, that is a different question: what the Pro adds, and whether it is worth it.

What to do

  1. Check Currys and Argos first: on 01/10/2026 both sold the Pro at Sony's £789.99 or 99p under.
  2. Treat any new console above £789.99 as a marketplace premium, and read who is selling and what the returns are before you pay.
  3. If your shop is out of stock, ask John Lewis to email you when it is back, and set a price alert on our PS5 Pro page.
  4. Ignore the lottery headlines: Sony's lottery is for Japan only, and the UK shops sell the Pro first come, first served.
