Does Argos price match? And does Amazon?
No: Argos and Amazon both say they do not price match (read 19/10/2026). Which shops do, their conditions, and where Argos is cheaper or dearer anyway.
On this page
If you have found a lower price somewhere else, Argos will not match it, and neither will Amazon. Two other shops we compare will, and that changes the order you should shop in. We read each shop's own price-match terms on 19/10/2026, and checked where Argos was cheaper or dearer that day.
Does Argos price match?
No. Argos's help page, read on 19/10/2026, says: "We don't price match at Argos for both online and in store items." It says instead that it reviews its own prices regularly and points you to the promotions on its website.
We found no Black Friday price guarantee for 2026 on Argos's help pages on 19/10/2026. In 2025 it ran one that protected you against Argos's own price falling later, not against another shop being cheaper (our Currys vs Argos guide has the detail). What Argos does offer is the way it sells: free collection from an Argos store or a Sainsbury's collection point, same-day delivery on selected products if you order by 1pm, and 30 days to change your mind, with anything bought between 23/09/2026 and 25/12/2026 returnable until 31/01/2027.
Does Amazon price match?
No. Amazon's Price Matching help page, read on 19/10/2026, says it compares its prices with other retailers and so "we don't offer price matching compensation". That covers Amazon itself; marketplace sellers on Amazon set their own prices and match no one either.
Which shops do price match?
Two of the shops we compare, both with conditions, both read on 19/10/2026:
| Shop | Its price match |
|---|---|
| Currys | Any UK retailer, online or in store, before you buy or up to 7 days after; not marketplace sellers, membership prices or exclusive codes |
| John Lewis | 25 named retailers, Argos, Amazon (electricals), Currys and AO among them, within 7 days of your order; not marketplace sellers, flash sales, members-only or promo-code prices; Apple products only against Apple |
| Argos | Does not price match |
| Amazon | Does not price match |
So a lower Argos price is a lever at Currys and at John Lewis, and so is a lower Amazon price, as long as Amazon itself is the seller. For the full rules and what makes a claim fail, see do Currys price match Argos, Amazon or John Lewis?
Where is Argos cheaper anyway?
Rarely, on the products we compare. On 19/10/2026 Currys was 99p under Argos on three consoles and the same on four other products:
| Product | Argos | Currys | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sony PlayStation 5 Slim Disc Edition 1TB | £569.99 | £569.00 | Currys by £0.99 |
| Microsoft Xbox Series X | £669.99 | £669.00 | Currys by £0.99 |
| Microsoft Xbox Series S - 1TB | Out of stock, checked 27/10 00:25 | £519.00 | Only Currys in stock |

| Samsung Galaxy S25 FE 256GB Android Smartphone 5G 8GB | £699.00 | Check price, last read 22/10 | Not compared today |
Of 5 products with a price at both shops today, Argos is cheaper on 0, Currys on 2, and 3 are the same price. 1 is in stock only at Currys. 1 was not compared, as a shop's price was not read recently.

Both shops had the Pixel 10 (128GB) at £499 that day, after Argos cut it from £599: when a price drops at one shop, it often drops at the others too.
How to get the lowest price without a price match
- Compare first. Find the lowest price at every shop, including Amazon and eBay; our product pages put them side by side.
- Check who is selling. On Amazon, "Shipper / Seller: Amazon" is Amazon; a named business is a marketplace seller, which neither Currys nor John Lewis will match.
- Buy from the cheapest, or take its price to Currys or John Lewis if you want their delivery, guarantee or returns. Argos will not move.
- Set a price alert on the product page, so a cut reaches you inside the 7 days Currys and John Lewis allow for a claim.
What to do
- Do not ask Argos or Amazon to match a price: both say on their own pages that they do not.
- Take a lower Argos or Amazon price (sold by Amazon) to Currys, before you buy or within 7 days after.
- At John Lewis, claim within 7 days of ordering, and remember Apple products are matched only against Apple.
- Choose Argos when the price is the same and you want to collect it today or return it in a shop.
